  • Overview

    The Director of Marketing – Spirits will be responsible for the development and execution of market strategy to drive successful performance to ensure goals are achieved through Distributor Management and relationship building with top accounts. This role is the driving force for the performance and growth of VWE spirit brands within an assigned territory; strong communication, presentation, networking and interpersonal skills will be key to the success in this role.




    • Lead the development, execution and communication of long-term growth plans and annual strategic planning process including product mix, sales forecasts and pricing positioning that supports overall business goals and our customer-centric philosophy
    • Develop marketing programs and initiatives to deliver against the annual volume and profit targets utilizing national/regional/local promotions, brand website, packaging, new products, public relations, social media, advertising, events, marketing materials, training materials and online marketing including social media. Demonstrate deep understanding of the channels we serve and how to work with them in the most effective way to develop programs to build brand
    • Analyze sales, market and consumer data to effectively manage the business; have a strong understanding of category including key drivers, overall competitive framework, brand/product landscape
    • Builds, maintains and manages a strong relationship with VWE’s business partner, Costco, and is responsible for all exclusive label business with this key account. Reporting directly to Terry Wheatley and Pat Roney on Costco business
    • Collaborates with other key functional areas, multiple internal and external contacts and outside agencies to accomplish objectives on schedule and within budget
    • Manages sales support tools ensuring all materials are up-to-date and responds to specific requests from the field for in-market activities including sales blitzes, new product launches and key events
    • Work with Trade Ambassador on development of Spirits materials
    • Work with operations and forecasting team on supply chain management
    • Reviews sales reports and provide analysis and recommendations
    • Communicate pricing and product allocation changes efficiently and effectively
    • Executes special projects and provide general assistance as required by VP and EVP of Sales and Marketing

    • Remains up-to-date with current and online marketing techniques and best practices
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize within a dynamic environment
    • Customer-oriented approach with aptitude
    • Advanced capabilities with Microsoft Office required, particularly Outlook, Excel and Access


    • BS/BA in business administration, marketing, communications or relevant field
    • Proven track record of success in senior marketing roles
